The application presents a robust suite of features for exploring, planning, and navigating maritime routes with impressive high-resolution Digital Vector Marine charts. This tool is particularly commendable for its real-time navigation capabilities and advanced route planning tools.

The free version provides an extensive array of functionality, including comprehensive navigation and trip planning tools. Users benefit from high-resolution vector charts derived from official NOAA and UKHO ENC chart data spanning various regions such as the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Finland, and New Zealand. Additionally, live AIS integration and Augmented Reality views are accessible through In-App Purchases (IAP), with each chart purchase coming with complimentary updates for a twelve-month period.

The unique Augmented Reality view mode allows seamless overlay of buoys, lights, ships, waypoints, and tracks onto your iPhone or iPad live camera feed. The "AR LockOn" feature enables users to select targets on the chart for guidance in real-time AR display. This is particularly beneficial in low-visibility conditions such as night or fog.

The app's Head-Up Display (HUD) efficiently shows vital navigational information including position on route, Course Over Ground (COG), Speed Over Ground (SOG), Vector Made Good (VMG), Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), as well as distance and bearing to the next waypoint. Features such as waypoint reached alerts and AIS collision warnings enhance navigational safety.

It is important to note that all in-app purchases operate as one-year subscriptions that automatically renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment details are processed through the user’s iTunes Account upon confirmation of purchase.

The software requires an iPhone or iPad device; however, for full functionality related to real-time AIS data, tide information, and weather updates, an active internet connection is necessary. Users with WiFi-only devices will need an external GPS receiver to facilitate navigation.

Please be aware of potential battery drain when utilizing GPS services in the background.

Legal notices indicate that U.S. Marine Charts are sourced from official NOAA Electronic Navigational Charts; however, it is essential to remember that this product is not designed for actual navigation according to SOLAS standards. Additionally, the Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina (IHM) and the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) do not provide warranties related to this product's information accuracy or quality assurance.
